apple orchard fall 2011

There are always photos that get lost and never blogged.  I found this batch today and wanted to make sure I got them up so I can look back and remember how much my little ones love engorging themselves with freshly picked fruit from the orchard. On this trip we gathered apples and even caught the second harvest of raspberries. I had no idea raspberries produce in the summer and again in the fall.

my 34th birthday

34? really? I can't believe its 34. I feel as immature as a 15 year old and certainly not old enough to be married to a 38 year old (pot shot) OR a mother of two sweet children.
It was a great birthday. We went to my most favorite place on earth, taltree arboretum for a hike in the woods after dark. They have trails lit with solar lights and a huge oak lit with lanterns, it's beautiful and quiet and just what I needed.  We finished the night with Indian food and gifts...perfect!

new connections

Friends came to stay the night and even though they live thousands of miles away I feel deeply connected to this family. I can't wait for you guys to move back to the states so we can hang out!

happy 3rd birthday Dot!

sweet little girl, three years ago you were born during a cold windy blizzard. Thankfully the weather was better for your birthday party yesterday.  You are a treasure and we love you dearly.

heart shaped eggs

Henry and Dot are eating eggs at an astounding rate. They have eggs in the morning,  a "bird in the basket" or a hard boiled one.  Egg salad is also really popular.
I found this tonight on pinterest and can't wait to surprise them with heart shaped eggs in the morning.

halloween

my little Darth Vader and my little bumble bee had a good night. We stopped to trick or treat at a house in the neighborhood and there happened to be 5 girls dressed as bumble bees and a boy dressed as an exterminator, the swarm was dealt with.
A friend loaned us a dad sized vader costume and Henry had the light saber battle of a lifetime with his father. I think I heard him say about 10 times..."this has been the best day ever"
